The Dodgers are back at home field today for Game 3 and hoping that’s the trick to wake them up from their current slide. The Atlanta Braves lead the National League Championship Series 2-0 right now.
Note that today is an afternoon game! The first pitch will take place at 2:08 p.m. Pacific Time on TBS from Dodger Stadium. Coverage will begin at 12:30 p.m. Pacific on TBS as well.
In terms of pitching, Game 3 of the NLDS is a repeat of the 2020 World Series Game 3 where Walker Buehler and then Tampa Bay Rays’ pitcher Charlie Morton met up.
Buehler has faced the Braves just once this season. In that outing on August 31, he did well holding the Braves to just two runs to the Dodgers three. He’ll be on two days additional rest as well, so ideally he is able to go deep in the game to help out the Dodgers bullpen. Buehler is pitching 2.47 overall this year, and is 2.50 historically in postseason starts.
RHP Charlie Morton will start for the Braves. He joined the team this year, opting out of a third year with the Rays. He’s pitching 3.34 this year, and historically 3.44 during the postseason. He’ll be looking to change the narrative from last year where the Dodgers pounced on just about everything he threw at them. The Dodgers won that meeting 6-2, Morton giving up five runs in the first five innings.
