Though these four names were the expected ones, manager Dave Roberts shared with reporters on Saturday morning what the Dodgers’ starting rotation will look like as the team opens up the season in Colorado.
Clayton Kershaw gets the Opening Day nod. Following him will be Trevor Bauer, Walker Buehler and Julio Urias. As Roberts mentioned yesterday, the fifth and final spot is still up for grabs between David Price, Dustin May and Tony Gonsolin. Roberts hasn’t mentioned when he’ll announce the fifth starter, and to be honest it very well could be some time before we have our answer.
Other news and notes
- Walker Buehler will throw a simulated game on Sunday.
- Roberts called Corey Knebel’s injury from last night a “love handle contusion.” He shouldn’t be sidelined long at all, with the plan being for him to pitch at some point during the Freeway Series against the Angels.
