The OKC Dodgers were the only team in action on Monday, as they picked up their first win of the season, defeating Round Rock, 8-6.
Triple-A Oklahoma City
The Dodgers won thanks to a huge second inning from the offense. After scoring a run in the first inning, OKC put up six runs on the board in the second. With two on, Omar Estevez doubled in two runs to put them up 3-0. Keibert Ruiz and Rangel Ravelo had back-to-back singles, putting runners on base for Zach Reks. On the first pitch he saw, he crushed a three-run home run to put OKC up 7-0.
Up 8-1 in the eighth inning, the Express put together a rally, scoring five runs to all of a sudden make it a two-run ballgame. They did it all with two outs as well, as six consecutive hitters reached base. Kevin Quackenbush came in for 1 1⁄3 innings to seal the deal and pick up the save.
Austin Bibens-Dirkx, who was signed to a minor-league deal last week, got the start for OKC. The 36-year-old threw five innings and allowed only one run while striking out four.
