I'm sure many of you recall Kirk Gibson's MVP season. That year he had an iconic at bat in the World Series that put the Dodgers in the driver's seat.

Above is an excerpt from his trot around the bases during that home run. My question, what was the intended meaning of the arm gesture made with his right arm as he circled the bases? I've always had a theory, but have never been sure.
