Dodgers players have strong presence in first round of All-Star voting

The Dodgers have a player in the top 3 in nearly every category

MLB: Texas Rangers at Los Angeles Dodgers Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

The first All-Star voting update came out on Monday morning and there are a lot of Dodgers who are looking to advance to the next round.

For those that need a reminder quickly, All-Star voting is different than how you likely remember. There are now two rounds to the fan voting. Before, if you were the top voter you’d be the winner. Now, you have to go through two rounds to win.

For every position aside from outfield, the top three vote-getters will advance to the next round. Then, fans will choose from those three. For the outfield, the top nine vote-getters will advance and choose three from that list. Make sense? Hopefully it does.

Here is how voting is shaping out for the boys in blue.

Catcher - Will Smith (4th place) 13,496 votes from 3rd

First base - Max Muncy (1st place)

Second base - Gavin Lux (3rd place) 2,286 vote gap between 4th

Shortstop - Corey Seager (3rd place)

Third base - Justin Turner (3rd place)

Outfield - Mookie Betts (4th place)

Outfield - Chris Taylor (4th place)

Here is more info on when the next update will be and when voting ends. Reminder that you can vote for your Dodgers players five times a day on the MLB website and once a day via Google. It takes one minute per day, and your votes are needed!
