Andy Pages continues hot start to season with 16th home run

He leads all Dodgers minor-leaguers

Overall it wasn’t a great day offensively for two of the teams, as Tulsa and Rancho combined for only five hits. Well, at least the Loons won!

Player of the day

Andy Pages continued his incredible start to the season. He went 2-for-4 on Wednesday and drove in four runs, including his organization-leading 16th home run.

Double-A Tulsa

It was a quiet day for the bats, as the Drillers recorded only two hits in their 7-0 loss to the Arkansas Travelers (Mariners). As a team, they went 0-for-3 with runners in scoring position and stranded eight runners on base.

Bryan Brickhouse took most of the damage on the mound, as nearly all of Arkansas’ runs came in the first. He allowed five runs on five hits and only made it through 23 of an inning. The silver lining is that the bullpen combined to pitch 8 13 innings while allowing only two runs.

High-A Great Lakes

A big day from Andy Pages was all it took for the Loons, as they defeated the Fort Wayne TinCaps (Padre) 8-1. Pages recorded two hits and drove in four runs. In the sixth inning he singled in two runs, and then in the eighth inning he hit a two-run shot for his 16th homer of the season. That number leads all Dodgers minor-leaguers.

Landon Knack went 4 13 innings for the Loons out of the pen. It was his best outing of the season, as he didn’t allow a run and struck out five.

Low-A Rancho Cucamonga

It was a quiet night from the offense, as they recorded only three hits in total as they fell to the Fresno Grizzlies (Rockies) 7-0. Eddys Leonard had two of the hits with Jonny Deluca having the other.

Kendall Williams threw only one inning. He allowed two runs on one hit and also issued a walk. His ERA is now at 4.85 on the season, as he continues to struggle through his first month with the Dodgers organization.

  • Los Angeles Dodgers optioned RHP Bobby Wahl to Oklahoma City Dodgers
  • Tulsa Drillers placed RHP Guillermo Zuniga on the 7-day injured list
  • Rancho Cucamonga Quakes activated CF Jake Vogel from the 7-day injured list.
