While the MLB All-Star Game was taking place, the minor-league games were in full swing.
Player of the day
Remember Matt Davidson from Spring Training? The hitter who we thought potentially could become a two-way player? Well, he’s not pitching in Oklahoma City but he’s been hitting. He hit two home runs yesterday to give him 11 on the season.
Triple-A Oklahoma City
Two home runs from Matt Davidson proved to be the difference maker, as the Dodgers took down the El Paso Chihuahuas (Padres) 3-1. Davidson hit his first homer of the night in the second inning, a solo shot to put the Dodgers up a run. With the game tied at one a piece, he hit his second solo shot of the night in the fourth to give OKC the 2-1 lead.
Brusdar Graterol threw a 1-2-3 ninth inning to notch his first save of the season. He had two strikeouts.
Double-A Tulsa
Two big innings from the Drillers were all they needed, as they defeated the Wichita Wind Surge (Twins) 7-2. After falling behind 2-0, the Drillers jumped ahead in the third inning thanks to a three-run inning. With two on and two out, Michael Busch crushed his 10th home run of the season to put Tulsa ahead 3-2.

Tulsa then scored four more runs in the seventh inning. After two quick outs, back-to-back hitters reached base. Carlos Rincon then doubled them both in, giving the Drillers a 5-2 lead. Hunter Feduccia followed with a two-run home run to give them a four-run lead.
Gerardo Carrillo tossed 5 1⁄3 innings. He allowed two runs on three hits and struck out five.
High-A Great Lakes
Rained out
Low-A Rancho Cucamonga
The Quakes couldn’t pull off the victory in extra innings, as they fell to the Inland Empire 66ers (Angels) 7-4 in 11 innings. The game headed to extras tied at three and both teams failed to score a run in the 10th. The 66ers capitalized in the 11th, as they scored four runs to put them on top, 7-3. RC answered back with a run of their own in the bottom half of the inning, but they couldn’t pull off the comeback.
