Max Muncy returns to the Dodgers after missing the weekend series against the Rockies

The Dodgers will be getting arguably their best bat back for their series against the Giants, as Max Muncy returned from his paternity leave on Monday. In the move, LA optioned Sheldon Neuse back to Triple-A.

After Thursday’s game, Muncy traveled to Arizona to be with his wife while they welcomed their first child to the world. Everyone, meet Sophie Kate!

After missing three games (and hopefully spending every second possible with his new daughter) Muncy will return to the Dodgers’ lineup.

With Mookie Betts and Corey Seager on the injured list, along with Cody Bellinger nursing a hamstring injury, the offense was really missing Muncy’s bat over the weekend. Luckily for LA, they were able to pick up the series win over the Rockies.

In the move, Neuse heads back to Oklahoma City where hopefully he can continue to work on things at the plate. His time with the Dodgers has been rough, as he currently has a bWAR of -0.4 and is hitting .169 with a strikeout percentage of 39.3 percent.
