Max Muncy went from Dodgers’ project to superstar

We love a successful Dodger project

Over at FiveThirtyEight, Brian Menéndez did a deep dive into Max Muncy before and after his transformation with the Dodgers.

Fun comments on Fangraphs after the A’s released Muncy just before the 2017 season explain just how forgettable he was as a player.

“Max Muncy is a 26-year-old first baseman with a career OPS just above .600. Move along.”

The Dodgers didn’t move along and now they have a feared hitter in the thick of their lineup who is now an All-Star force at the plate. It’s a fun piece and they go into some of his bad luck in 2020 as well.
