Two minor leaguers in the Dodgers’ organization received player of the week honors for their performances August 9-15. Ryan Ward won hitter of the week for High-A Central and Gavin Stone won pitcher of the week for Low-A West.

Ward, an outfielder for Great Lakes has 20 homers on the season after hitting a pair for the Loons Sunday afternoon. In five games this last week, Ward went 8-for-21 (.381) with four home runs and eight RBIs while scoring nine runs.

The 23-year-old is hitting .292/.366/.545 on the year and he also has 15 doubles, three triples and eight stolen bases to go along with all those taters.

For Stone, it’s the second pitcher of the week honor in the past three weeks. Both versions were earned by tossing six scoreless innings.
