Conner Greene has come full circle, back to the Baltimore Orioles two weeks after the Dodgers claimed him from Charm City. Greene on Monday was claimed off waivers by the Dodgers from the Orioles, ending the right-hander’s tenure in Los Angeles.
The Dodgers designated Greene for assignment on Friday when they signed right-hander Shane Greene, which removed Conner Greene from the 40-man roster.
The 26-year-old rookie was claimed off waivers by the Dodgers on August 9, and pitched in two games on the road trip, once each in Philadelphia and New York, tossing a combined two scoreless innings, allowing two hits with two strikeouts. He’s one of a franchise-record 37 pitchers used by the Dodgers in 2021.

The Dodgers optioned Conner Greene to Triple-A on August 17, but he did not pitch in a game for Oklahoma City.
He’s one of 10 pitchers the Dodgers added from outside their 40-man roster this season who have since left the 40-man roster. That includes position player Andy Burns, who pitched in his Dodgers debut, but doesn’t include added pitchers who are on the 60-day injured list and out for the year like Jimmie Sherfy and Cole Hamels.
Roster churn has been constant this season.
Greene was drafted by the Blue Jays in the seventh round in 2013 out of Santa Monica High School, and also pitched in the Cardinals and Royals systems. He signed a minor league deal with the Orioles in December that included an invitation to big league camp.
In five games for the Orioles this season, Greene allowed six runs in 5⅔ innings, with seven strikeouts and a walk.
