After last night’s 16-inning marathon, the Dodgers go for the sweep of the Padres on Thursday night at Petco Park in San Diego. Max Scherzer and Yu Darvish start on the mound, but as we saw last night, there’s a lot more to the game than that.
Darvish was activated off the injured list to start this game on the mound, as was Mookie Betts for the Dodgers in right field. The corresponding move for Darvish was reliever Daniel Camarena optioned to Triple-A El Paso after pitching two innings on early Thursday morning.
Camarena hit a grand slam off Scherzer earlier this season at Petco Park.
