The Dodgers made a bullpen swap before Tuesday’s game against the Astros, placing Edwin Uceta on the 10-day injured list with a right back strain. Brusdar Graterol was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Graterol was optioned on Saturday before the Dodgers’ planned bullpen game, after pitching the previous two days. Normally he’s have to be in the minors for 10 days, but was allowed to return earlier by replacing an injured player.
Uceta was called up on Saturday and pitched an inning in that bullpen game, his sixth separate stint in the majors this season as a rookie. This is the second stint on the injured list this year for Uceta, who spent the minimum 10 days on the IL in July with a left lumbar strain. Uceta only missed six games since it was through the All-Star break.
This is the fourth stint in the majors this season for Graterol, who has a 6.00 ERA in nine innings, with six strikeouts and three walks.
