Double-A Tulsa

They scored early, but the Drillers’ offense went quiet over the second half of the game as they fell to the Wichita Wind Surge (Twins) 8-6.

Kody Hoese singled in a run in the first inning and Devin Mann brought in a run on a sacrifice fly, putting the Drillers up 2-0 right away. Clayton Daniel then hit a two-run double in the fourth inning, doubling Tulsa’s lead to two runs. Michael Busch drove in two runs in the ninth inning to make it an 8-6 game, as the Drillers brought the tying run to the plate. Sadly, they couldn’t pull off the comeback.

High-A Great Lakes

It was a home run party in Lake County, as the Loons hit five home runs in their 10-2 victory over the Lake County Captains (Indians).

Eddys Leonard led the way, as he hit three homers himself. His first came in the fourth inning as he hit a solo shot to put the Loons up 3-1. He then hit a two-run shot an inning later, putting GL ahead 7-1. Leonard then hit his third in the ninth inning, another solo shot. The 20-year-old continues to have an amazing season in the minors, as he’s split time between Low-A and High-A. In 23 games with the Loons he’s hitting .348 with an OPS of 1.116. On the season he has 21 total homers.
