Wednesday was a solid day for two Dodgers minor leaguers recently promoted to Double-A Tulsa.
Player of the day
Centerfielder James Outman homered twice and doubled from the leadoff spot, scoring three times in Double-A Tulsa’s road win in Springfield.
Since getting promoted to Double-A on July 22, Outman is hitting .341/.453/.659 in 11 games.
Double-A Tulsa
The Drillers exploded for 16 hits, including five doubles and Outman’s two home runs to beat the Springfield Cardinals. First baseman Justin Yurchak had three hits and drove in three.
Catcher Hunter Feduccia drove in three with a pair of singles. Justin Hagenman struck out four in two scoreless innings of relief.
High-A Great Lakes
Starter Cole Percival faced seven batters and allowed four runs in the Loons’ blowout loss to the Fort Wayne Tincaps (Padres). Andy Pages homered in the loss, his 22nd of the season. Second baseman Zac Ching doubled, had an RBI single, and was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded.
Though he has since been promoted to Tulsa, Landon Knack on Wednesday was named High-A Central pitcher of the month for July. Knack, the Dodgers’ second-round draft pick in 2020, was 3-0 with a 1.54 ERA during the month, with 37 strikeouts against only one walk in his 23⅓ innings. Knack makes his Double-A debut on Thursday.
Low-A Rancho Cucamonga
Shortstop Luis Diaz hit a three-run home run, one of two homers on the night for the Quakes in a loss to the Lake Elsinore Storm (Padres). Catcher Wladimir Chalo also homered for Rancho Cucamonga.
Starter Kendall Williams allowed eight runs (four earned) and 10 hits in four innings.
The loss was the first in eight games at home against Lake Elsinore this season.
