Dodgers fans, you finally have gotten your wish. After a public demand for the legend to make his return, Matt Beaty has been brought up from Triple-A.
In the move, the Dodgers placed outfielder Billy McKinney on the Injured List with left hip impingement.
Beaty returns after spending a few weeks in Oklahoma City. The Dodgers wanted him to get consistent playing time, and he took advantage. In nine games in OKC, he hit .357 with three doubles and four RBI.
McKinney has been struggling ever since coming to LA, but especially as of late. In 37 games with the Dodgers, McKinney is hitting .146 with an OPS of .502. Over his last 24 games he’s hitting .091.
By no means are the Dodgers adding an All-Star with Beaty, but having someone who can hit above .200 seems like a Christmas miracle at this point. With the addition of Gavin Lux as well, the Dodgers added two bats to their bench.
