Key’Gia, the fourth child for the Jansens, was born on Sunday morning.
Jansen last pitched on Saturday, the third straight game in which he has pitched, the first time he’s pitched three days in a row since June 2019. Efficiency was key to the streak, throwing only nine, seven, and eight pitches in his outings.

The last 11 appearances for Jansen have been scoreless innings, and since blowing three saves in a row in July he has a 1.29 ERA in 20 games, with 26 strikeouts and seven unintentional walks in 21 innings.
Jansen has converted his last 11 save opportunities. Though his 14-percent walk rate is a career worst in 2021, Jansen during his 11-inning scoreless streak has walked only three of 39 batters (7.7 percent).
To make room on the active roster for Jansen, Mitch White was optioned after pitching the final two innings of Monday night’s series opening win over the Diamondbacks. That was the ninth different major league stint this season for White, who has a 3.74 ERA and 3.88 FIP in 45⅔ innings, with 48 strikeouts and 17 walks.
The Dodgers active roster has 16 pitchers and 12 position players.
