The Dodgers jumped out to an early lead in the first inning and didn’t look back, as they defeated the Las Vegas Aviators (Athletics) 5-2.
Sheldon Neuse and Steven Souza Jr. reached base to begin the game. Matt Davidson drove in the first run of the game as he singled to left field. OKC’s second run came in a few hitters later, as Anthony Bemboom grounded out to bring in a run.
OKC loaded the bases with zero outs in the third inning. They were in a prime position to tack on some runs, but one was all they could afford. Andy Burns grounded into a double play, giving the Dodgers a 3-0 lead. Luckily, the missed opportunity didn’t cost them.
They added two more runs in the seventh inning, as Neuse brought in a run with a sacrifice fly and Davidson drove in a run with a double.
Mitch White tossed four innings, allowing one run (zero earned) on three hits. He struck out five and issued two walks.
