Albert Pujols’ stint on the COVID-19-related injured list lasted just one day, as the first baseman was activated on Wednesday. Pujols was placed on the IL on Tuesday after an adverse reaction to his second vaccination dose.

“He didn’t feel good as far as playing in a major league game,” manager Dave Roberts said Tuesday. “Just to give him a day, and see where he’s at tomorrow.”

There is no time restriction on the COVID-19-related injured list, which allowed Pujols to miss just one game.

The Dodgers optioned left-handed pitcher Andrew Vasquez to Triple-A Oklahoma City, putting the roster back at 13 position players and 15 pitchers heading into Wednesday’s game.

Vasquez was called up Sunday for extra coverage after heavy relief usage on the road trip, but ended up not pitching in either game he was active during this big league stint. Vasquez pitched in two games for the Dodgers earlier in September, allowing one unearned run in 1⅔ innings, with three strikeouts.
