AFL 11/9/12 recap: Mesa wins again

Rafael Ynoa triples and plates two while Chris Reed strikes out two in his inning of work

H. Darr Beiser-USA TODAY

Houston farmhand George Springer went 3 for 3 and homered twice on Friday as he led the Solar Sox to a 7 - 5 win over the Rafters. Three other Mesa players had more than one hit in this contest, including Rafael Ynoa who went 2 for 3 with a triple and 2 RBI's. Joc Pederson was the only other Dodger in Friday's lineup and he singled once in 5 at bats.

On the mound Mesa starter Jarret Cosart (Astros) struck out 6 over 4 innings, although he did give up 4 hits and 3 runs. A trio of relievers shut down the opposition over the next few innings, then Dodger pitcher Chris Reed came into the game and K'ed a pair of batters for the 4th game in a row. While his ERA is 8.64, Reed has struck out over a batter per inning and has given up just one earned run over his last 4.1 frames.
