Arizona Fall League recap: Corey Seager doubles in 6-0 Glendale win

Seager's double snapped an 0-for-17 skid and helped the Desert Dogs (7-6-1) to a second straight victory.

Corey Seager doubled to start a five-run ninth-inning rally, helping the Glendale Desert Dogs to a 6-0 road win over the Peoria Javelinas on Thursday afternoon in Arizona Fall League action at Surprise Stadium.

Seager was just 1-for-5 on the day, but hit a ground-rule double to center field off Jonas Dufek (Astros) to open the ninth inning. The Desert Dogs already held a 1-0 lead, but added five more runs in the top of the ninth to seal their second straight victory.

The ninth-inning double snapped an 0-for-17 skid for Seager, who is 6-for-34 (.176) with three doubles in nine games in the AFL, with five walks and 11 strikeouts. Seager also booted a ground ball in the second inning for an error, his third in nine games.

Brian Cavazos-Galvez started in left field, and was 0-for-5 with three strikeouts on Thursday. He is 0-for-10 since homering on Tuesday.

Chris O'Brien walked twice and scored in the ninth inning rally, but was also 0-for-2 with a strikeout. In seven games the catcher is 1-for-18 (.056), but with five walks.

No Dodgers pitched on Thursday.
