The Desert Dogs pounded out 13 hits on Tuesday, including 3 homers, but they still only managed to tie the Saguaros 5 - 5 in their 11 inning contest. The most interesting long ball to the readers of this site will be the two-run bomb crushed by Corey Seager in the 6th inning, a drive hit to left field. It was one of two hits in the game for Seager who also singled later in the contest for his first multi-hit effort since October 17th.
The other homers for Glendale came from Byron Buxton (Twins) and Jared Mitchell (White Sox) who both connected on their team high 4th taters. The only other Dodger prospect to hit in this game was Chris O'Brien and he 1 for 5 with a double. In 10 game so far this season O'Brien only has 4 hits, and all 4 have been two-baggers.
On the mound Desert Dog starter Andrew Heaney (Marlins) was very impressive as he tossed 4 shutout innings while striking out 5, however reliever Zack Jones (Twins) came into the game in the 5th and quickly gave up 4 runs on a pair of homers. Jarret Martin got out of the 5th and then fired a scoreless 6th, then four more relievers combined to get through the rest of the game and preserve the tie.
