The Desert Dogs moved closer to elimination on Monday as they fell to the Saguaros 9 to 6. Glendale actually held the lead heading into the 8th, but a 5 run outburst by Surprise against reliever Edgar Olmos (Marlins) turned the game around.
The late rally by the Saguaros wasted a solid effort by starter Andrew Heaney (Marlins) who gave up just 3 hits over a season high 5 innings. Dodger prospect Jarret Martin then tossed a scoreless 6th despite allowing a hit and a walk before the other relievers let the team down.
Despite the loss the Desert Dogs had some solid performances at that the plate, including a pair of homers and 4 RBI's from Yorman Rodriguez (Reds). Dodger catching prospect Chris O'Brien went 2 for 3 with a RBI double while Jared Mitchell had 3 hits including a two-bagger.
Unfortunately Corey Seager didn't get into the offensive action as he had another 0 for 4 performance with 2 more strikeouts. After a decent start to the season, the youngest player in the league has just 5 hits in his last 40 at bats, and his OPS for the season is an ugly .480.

Coming up: Glendale will face Surprise again on Tuesday and will try to get back in the win column with their statistical ace Stephen McCray (White Sox) on the mound. He'll be opposed by Will Lamb (Rangers).
