The Desert Dog pitching was outstanding on Friday as Glendale blanked the Scorpions 1 to 0.  Starter Alex Meyer (Twins) used every bit of his 6'9" frame to show his dominance in this game, allowing just 1 hit over 5.2 scoreless frames.  The right hander also struck out 7, and walked just 1.  Reliever A.J. Achter (Twins) followed with 1.1 perfect innings to record the win, then Chris Bassitt (White Sox) and Nick Wittgren (Marlins) completed the 3-hit shutout.

Despite the great pitching the game was still very close as the Desert Dog offense couldn't get anything going through 6 innings.  Finally in the 7th Corey Seager led off the frame with a single (his only hit of the game in 4 at bats), then moved into scoring position on a Max Kepler (Twins) base knock.  Then with two outs Brent Keys (Marlins) was the offensive hero as he drove him Seager for the only run of the game.

Catcher Chris O'Brien was the only other Dodger to play in this game and he also went 1 for 4

Coming up: The Desert Dogs will take on the Scorpions again later today as Andrew Heaney (Marlins) will face Adalberto Mejia (Giants).
