Left-handed pitcher Bryan Warzek from the University of New Orleans is the Dodgers’ sixth-round pick, No. 194 overall in the 2018 MLB Draft.

The 6-foot lefty struck out 127 in 95 innings for New Orleans as a junior in 2018 while posting a 2.87 ERA in 16 starts. He is a two-time all-conference selection in the Southland Conference.

“It is a surreal feeling,” said Warzek. “I want to thank my coaches, teammates, family and friends. I am truly thankful for the opportunity to play for New Orleans. To be drafted by an amazing organization is a blessing.”

Baseball America ranked Warzek the 488th-best prospect in the draft, noting, “Scouts generally believe that Warzek’s pro future will end up being in the bullpen.”

He was not ranked in the top 200 by our David Hood.

The allotted slot value for the No. 194 pick is $233,800.
