The 2020 Major League Baseball Draft will be held June 10-11, and this year is limited to just five rounds.

The Dodgers have six picks, including a Competitive Balance Round B pick that’s just after the second round, acquired in the Kenta Maeda trade to the Twins. In the first round, the Dodgers pick 29th overall.

Los Angeles’ overall draft bonus pool is $5,928,400, including $2,424,600 for the first-rounder. That overall can only be used on the Dodgers’ picks, with signing bonuses for undrafted amateurs capped at $20,000.

“It’s going to eliminate a lot of the creativity. It’s going to be a challenge,” Dodgers vice president of amateur scouting Billy Gasparino said. “There’s just those six picks, and if you don’t spend the money, it doesn’t get spent.”

There have been several national mock drafts, aiming to predict who the Dodgers might take with that 29th overall pick. Some players have even been linked to LA more than once, including Illinois high school shortstop Ed Howard and Mississippi State middle infielders Justin Foscue and Jordan Westburg.
