Dodgers’ 2021 mock draft tracker

The 2021 MLB Draft is 20 rounds over three days from Sunday to Tuesday, but this focuses on the first round (ESPN and MLB Network, 4 p.m. PT), where the Dodgers pick 29th overall. Here’s a look at picks linked to the Dodgers in various mock drafts from Baseball America, MLB.com, The Athletic, and ESPN over the last few months.

The Dodgers have a bonus pool of $4,646,700, based on their recommended slot values for the first 10 rounds. That they forfeited their second-round pick for signing free agent Trevor Bauer brings an interesting dynamic to whom the Dodgers might take in the first round.

After picking 29th, the Dodgers’ next pick doesn’t come until No. 101 overall, at the end of the third round. So in the first round they could potentially pick a player earlier than expected, perhaps spending under slot value, and use the difference on the rest of the draft.

The national draft prospect rankings reflect a wide range for the players linked to the Dodgers, as high as the No. 12 prospect in the draft and as low as out of the top 100, at least by one ranking.
